The dredging depth depends on the size of the dredger. Cutter Suction Dredger standard cutter depth is up to 25 m with a short ladder and spuds, while a deep suction depth on wires can reach 45 m. You can work in all kinds of waters, including in shallow water areas. All parts of the cutter suction dredger can be transported by road, rail, or sea. The dredges will handle by the dredge master; all necessary instruments and steering devices are here installed inside the first-class operating cabin with air-conditioning, shock absorbers to minimize vibration and noise level and also mounted dredge control and monitoring system, density- and flow rate measuring system, automatic cutter control, suction tube position monitoring, draught, and loading monitoring, the velocity of the mixture in the delivery pipe and also Reporting – Data logging and Trending.
Cutter Suction Dredger can be self-propelled or require towage between work sites. All hydraulic motors and cylinders operate by one radial piston pump driven by the diesel engine. Improvements in efficiency and savings in fuel consumption are spectacular compared with traditional dredgers. Installed power is significantly less than in other dredgers with similar delivery
pipelines. The diesel engine is a modern computer-controlled diesel engine with low fuel consumption and low NOx and soot emissions.
