The Steel Mooring Buoys are specially designed for the mooring of vessels in the most economical way.
The Steel Mooring Buoy is built from robust, high-quality steel and fitted with the Quick Release Buoy Hooks. This Steel Mooring Buoy offers a sturdy mooring solution for vessels undergoing waiting or (dis)charging procedures. The anchor chain’s direct connection to the mooring unit reinforces the mooring’s safety, stability, and sustainability.
The Steel Mooring Buoy offers durability even in highly corrosive environments. Several (internal) hook parts of the Steel Mooring Buoy are special coatings, bushings, grease, and stainless steel.
The Steel Mooring Buoys are available in different sizes according to special requirements and conditions.
Mooring Buoy, Body
The mooring Buoy body usually is supported on static legs attached to the seabed, with a rotating part above water level connected to the ( off ) loading tanker. The two sections are linked by a roller bearing called the “main bearing.” Due to this arrangement, the moored tanker can move the weathervane freely around the buoy and find a stable position.
Mooring Buoy, Mooring, and anchoring parts
Moorings fix the buoy to the seabed. Mooring Buoy design must account for the buoy’s behavior given applicable wind, wave, current conditions, and tanker sizes. That determines the various mooring leg components’ optimum mooring arrangement and scope. Anchoring points are substantially dependent on local soil conditions.
Mooring Buoy, Mooring components
Anchors or piles – To connect the mooring to the seabed.
Sinker or anchor chain joint to buoy (SPM)
Anchor chain
Chain stoppers – To attach the chains to the buoy.
