Mavi Deniz is a market leader/world’s largest producer in designing and manufacturing multi-purpose offshore oil recovery vessels.
Mavi Deniz developed the unique Sea Barracuda, a multi-purpose offshore oil spill recovery vessel. Multi-Purpose Offshore Oil Spill Recovery Vessel ( OSRV ) can be supplied already with all the equipment necessary to implement efficient and quick oil cleanup operations at offshore seas.
The versatile OSRV can be fitted with various types of response equipment so that it can utilize in many different applications, including boom deployment, firefighting, anchor/ buoy handling, towing, general workboat duties, monitoring, dispersant spraying, oil recovery, oily waste storage, and disposal of micro-pollutants from the offshore sea areas.
Sea Barracuda; The offshore oil spill recovery vessel collects oils automatically from the sea with its rigid sweeping arms systems up to 5 sea state conditions. This uniquely designed, purpose-built offshore oil spill recovery vessel can only recover oils from light diesel through highly viscous crudes ( 1,000,000 Cst ).
International Maritime Organization announced a strategy to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to zero by this century; marine environmental regulations have been tightened worldwide. The implementation of emission control areas has begun to affect vessel operations. Mavi Deniz has successfully started new emission control regulations by developing dual-fuel solutions and cleaner green power technologies.
Mavi Deniz’s Green Power Options; Solar Energy System, Battery Power System, Hydrogen Fuel Cell System, and LNG System can fully integrate into Offshore Oil Spill Recovery Vessel, including deck equipment and propulsion system.

Features
- With its rigid sweeping arms skimmer system, Sea Barracuda can collect oil spills to recover all oil types’ viscosities from the sea./li>
- Offshore Oil Recovery Vessel Collection Rate; 150 tons/hour – 200 tons/hour – 300 tons/hour.
- The dispersant spray system fits for applying the chemical dispersion agent through articulated arms mounted on both sides.
- OSD ( Oil Spill Detection ) System for detecting/tracking oil spills on the water.
- The thermal Oil Heating System fits on the vessel for heating the tanks.
- The Offshore Oil Spill Recovery Vessel has a double hull and double bottom.
- An optional boom reel can store and deploy various-sized booms, Fi-Fi 1 monitors for firefighting, a stern A-Frame Crane for buoy handling operations, or towing winch for anchor handling duties.
The Oil Spill Detection ( OSD ) System’s primary objectives are to detect oil spills on the sea surface and track the oil spill over time. The system provides help both for those supervising oil fields and those in charge of cleanup operations. The OSD system may operate in complete darkness or fog 24 hours a day, thus enabling recovery and skimming operations when the visibility is poor. Ability to detect oil spills of at least 100 liters in wind conditions and sea states corresponding to Beaufort’s scale of 2-6. Sea Barracuda has been specially conceived to operate in open seas or offshore activities. OSRV has excellent sea-going qualities, which allow the vessel to reach the same high level of performance in open waters. Extra care has been taken to design a smooth sailing hull to avoid oil spots on the sea surface being disturbed by the swell and the vessel’s wake.
Mavi Deniz’s Offshore Oil Spil Recovery Vessels are seen in use worldwide.
